What does the VESA standard 100x100 mean?

The VESA standard describes the mounting pattern on the back of televisions. The size refers to the distance between the screw holes and helps to find the right mount for the device. On televisions with the VESA standard 100x100, the holes are arranged in a square and are each 100mm apart.
