There is no universal ideal height at which to mount your TV. Televisions come in a wide variety of sizes and everyone watches TV in their own individual way. Your eye level when watching TV can be used to determine the ideal height for your TV. When you are sitting on the couch, for example. You should make sure that the middle of your TV is mounted at eye level.
If you want to mount your TV higher on a wall, for example in the kitchen, bedroom or above a fireplace, then choose a tilting TV bracket. This will allow you to tilt the TV to the perfect viewing angle.
The best viewing distance is approximately 5-10 cm for every inch of the diagonal screen size. For example, if you purchase a 42-inch TV, you should sit 2-4 metres from the screen.

The ideal viewing distance from your TV is three to four times the size of the TV screen. In other words, the larger the TV screen, the greater the distance to your TV. The best-selling TV size in the Netherlands is a 55” screen. And there's good reason for that. The ideal viewing distance for a 55” screen is 190” (4.80 metres). In a typical Dutch home, the average distance from the couch to the TV is roughly four metres.
