12-metre (39-foot) wide dvLED wall mounted with Vogel's
Digital masterpiece at Rijksmuseum Amsterdam
Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum has yet another masterpiece. Not the Night Watch or Milkmaid this time, however, an impressive dvLED wall measuring a whopping 12 metres (39 feet) wide and 3 metres (10 feet) high. The LED wall is expertly mounted with the universal Vogel's dvLED Connect-it Video Wall Mounting System.
The Rijksmuseum is the museum of Rembrandt, Vermeer and Van Gogh. Besides exhibition areas of artworks, there are also several presentation areas. One of these spaces was recently enriched with a huge LED wall.
The project explained
The challenge
- A presentation room with fixed seats in the Rijksmuseum needed to be equipped with a large-format video wall.
- In order to make the visual experience for visitors as impressive as possible, the museum wanted a very high-resolution LED wall.
- A video wall with low power consumption was desirable.
- Maintenance of the LED wall had to be quick and easy, so that future inconvenience would be kept to a minimum.
- They wanted the installation of the video wall not to take much time.
The solution
- A Philips 6000 Series dvLED wall with a 1.5mm pixel pitch was chosen, achieving a resolution of 7680 x 1944px.
- The LED wall features a unique "power saving" feature, saving significantly on power costs.
- Thanks to the modular Vogel's Connect-it dvLED Video Wall Mounting System, where profiles can be easily linked, the LED wall could be built and installed quickly and easily in the room.
- This Philips dvLED wall is front service accessible. That is, any kind of maintenance and service can be carried out from the front, as the panels are front accessible.
