Does your audio amplifier have a different digital output than your audio source?

A COAX to TOS converter can solve that problem

What if your television or home cinema set doesn't have an HDMI connection? Or would you like to connect your audio amplifier to your audio source even though they have different digital outputs? No problem, a COAX to TOS converter is the answer. We are happy to explain it all to you.

Sometimes life presents us with little challenges.

The audio output from your TV or another source cannot simply be plugged into the input of your other equipment.

However, you will be happy to know that a converter is available that seamlessly connects your device with a coaxial RCA input/output (S/P DIF) to a device with a digital optical toslink input/output. This type of converter often has two-way conversion, in other words bi-directional. This means it doesn't matter in which direction the signal goes. Both sides of the converter are equipped with both a digital optical toslink and a digital coaxial RCA connection.

This makes it easy to send the sound from your TV to your wireless speakers.

What's the difference between HDMI and optical?

An HDMI cable is suitable for transmitting both video and audio, whereas an optical cable only transmits audio. Certain HD audio formats (Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD) do not support optical cables but that doesn't mean you have to sacrifice sound quality or that certain parts of the sound will be missing. These formats are automatically converted into Dolby Digital or DTS, which can be sent through the optical cable.

You can use the Vogel's SAVA 1031 to face these challenges and convert from optical to coaxial audio signal or vice versa. This all-rounder is suitable for the most common 2 to 5.1 channel digital audio signals.

The SAVA 1031 not only connects your audio optical connection to a coaxial connection, but also amplifies the digital audio signal. This allows you to extend the cable length without losing any of the quality.
